QUBITECH was honored to present a talk on “quantum technologies in Greece” within the framework of the Qiskit Fall Fest 2023 extension event, that took place on Monday 4th of December 2023 in the Informatics department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. This was the first Qiskit extension event to be organized in Greece, which can be regarded as an important milestone for the cultivation of quantum technology endeavours, both in the academic as well as in the private domain.
Our team was very excited to present their ongoing work on developing a novel light based Ising simulator prototype to an enthusiastic audience of young scientists and future quantum engineers. The presentation also highlighted the national effort for the development of the quantum communications infrastructure of Greece within the framework of the HellasQCI project, were QUBITECH participates as one of the consortium partners. The end of the talk was followed by a stimulating discussion with the audience regarding the prospects and potential of quantum technologies in Greece.
