UBITECH discusses about 5G embedded trust and attestation at EuCNC FAST 2021

UBITECH’s Thanassis Giannetsos, Dimitris Papamartzivanos, Sofia Anna Menesidou and Sophia Karagiorgou give a talk entitled “Towards 5G Embedded Trust: Integrating Attestation Extensions in Vertical Industries” at the 2021 Joint EuCNC & 6G Summit and, more specifically, in the scheduled workshop on the vision of 6G titled “From 5G to 6G Automated and Intelligent Security: FAST“. UBITECH’s researchers present their core technologies related to trusted computing and remote attestation and how this can enable the vision of 5G ecosystems with embedded trust. This novel notion of edge trust assurance services allow us to embed ubiquitous trust models into the network so that users can trust the communication over the network. The trust model should ubiquitously collect evidence of misbehaviour and provide indirect reciprocity and non-repudiation of actions. The aim of this process is to enable the support of extended trust-aware service graph chains, for highly virtualized and software environments, with verifiable evidence on their correctness and functional safety. The 2021 Joint EuCNC & 6G Summit, (Virtual – Porto, Portugal, 8-11 June 2021) initiated this year, builds on putting together two successful conferences in the area of telecommunications: EuCNC (European Conference on Networks and Communications), in its 30th edition of a series, supported by the European Commission; the 6G Summit, in its 3rd edition, originated from the 6G Flagship programme in Finland, one of the very first in its area.
